Welcome to Tablescape Thursday at Huckleberry Prairie! We are going back in time to...
The Old West!
I started off with a homemade red and white gingham tablecloth (that my mom made) with a cute eyelet ruffle. I love this tablecloth! Next, I made a burlap runner for the center of the table. Because my dining room table is square, I went with a square runner instead of the traditional rectangle. The plate is a cute daisy print with black dots.
I used cow bells as a name card holder... tied on with various patterned red, black and white pretty bows.
I used small mason jar glasses with a bandanna hankie napkin.
We will only be using these little jars as water glasses because...
...we are having Rootbeer!! IBC to be exact. And these fun glass bottles are being held in a horseshoe wine holder... but who needs wine when you have a frosty rootbeer! ;)
There is a miniature lantern on each of the four sides of the table... reminding you of the old west and chuck wagon days. At least that is what it reminds me of. ;)
A few rusty tin tea light holders and candles inside rusty old horseshoes.
A look around the table...
And for the centerpieces... I used four different pieces so each seat had a different view. The first was the Rootbeer bottles in the horseshoe tower.
The second piece was a buckaroo riding a bronco on a tin holder filled with dried sunflowers and hydrangeas.
The third piece were a pair of vintage red cowboy boots...with a scene from the old west. I filled the boots with grain-like filler and dried red flowers and berries...to keep with the "old" theme of the table.
Next, I had a display of an old, used lasso and a distressed, cream colored barn star. Of course I just had to tie a red and white gingham ribbon to give a feminine touch. ;)
I hope you enjoyed a taste of the Old West! For many more beautiful and creative tablescapes, don't forget to visit Susan's Between Naps on the Porch!

Just adorable! Just love it! The root beer holder! Just love it!
What cute dinnerware! And that root beer rack is great!
Now this took some thinking. It is probably one of my most favorite tablescapes simply because of the thought put into it, and it is absolutely darling! The cowbell placecards and the root beer in a horseshoe wine holder...I would have never thought of that. The two patterns of the places worked great together. This is a beautiful and creative tablescape. Thanks so much for sharing this. Hugs!

Hey Y'all !
Loved your setting - makes me want to go to a hoe-down - LOL ! You did a fab job ! I really loved your cowbells the best ! Do you really know people by those names (snicker, snicker)?
Your tablecloth you made is sweet....I might have to think of doing something for mine - I think my table is alot like yours...It is square but I can pull up the sides to make it oval or round. It is counter high...which I love most of the time...Anyway....enough of my rambeling....
I really enjoyed your tablescape today !
Hugs ~ Kammy
OMG, how cute is that?! I love everything, such attention to detail, but I have to say my favorites are the cow bells. Wonderful!
That has got to be the cutest tablescape I've seen in a long time. I love everything about it. I really like how the centerpiece is actually 4 different things. No one is left out. And those cowbell name tags. Too cute!!!
This is so great! Cutest, most fun one I've seen yet. Love the cowbells and the rootbeer holder, and the centerpiece, ..well all of it! Absolutely adorable!
This is just cute as a bug's ear! All the pretty plates. The unique holder for the root beer. The cow bells. I'm in love I do believe, with the good Old West. And I'm a Texan to boot!
Brenda
that rootbeer in the wine holder is just the cutest thing!
This makes me miss Texas! Your tablescape is so well put together. I have saved an old red pair of boots -- used them at Christmas last year -- now you have shown me another way! Your Mama did a great job on the tablecloth. I once went to a "cowboy" wedding -- they should have had you as the wedding planner!

You do Texas so well!!! This table is absolutely gorgeous! I love all your details and your centerpiece is terrific. Your dishes are perfect. This table just yells, "have a good time, y'all, come and get it!".
This is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen. I absolutely love it. Your centerpieces are all 3 just so creative and perfect. Love the dishes and all of the accessories. What a really fun table. BTW, we are having a "Cloche Party" on June 19th, check out my blog for details. I hope you will join in all the fun. Hugs, Marty
Hi Melissa...
Yeeeehawww!!! I love it...I love your pretty "Old West" tablescape!!! It's so bright, cheerful, and fun!!! There's nothing like red & white gingham checks! Your dishes are soooo pretty...red is one of my most favorite colors! I love the daisy pattern against the red and the black polka dots! And ohhh, the pattern on the salad plates...very pretty! Your place settings are so fun...what a great idea to use a little cow bell for the name tags...love all of the different ribbon that you used on them! I can see that you're a very talented and creative lady...so evident by this beautiful tablescape!!! My favorite is the centerpiece! First of all, I just love that you added burlap as a table runner! I just took several minutes...eyeing each pretty object that you used in your centerpiece! I love them all and think it's a fabulous idea to include something for each angle of the table!!! And of course, I love the little mason jars for glasses and the big red bandanas!!! What a beautifully set table, my friend! I really enjoyed your tablescape!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Too cute! I love the idea of "dispaying" the rootbeer! Very clever!
Have a great weekend!
