Nothing screams, "summer is around the corner!!" like a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade! I never had a lemonade stand growing up... but I'll tell you what, I would open one now if I could work out of a lemon!!
This lemonade stand is at the Carlsbad Flower Fields in Southern California (which, by the way, deserves a post of its own...spectacular!). The man in the lemon had fresh squeezed lemonade and strawberry lemonade...it was deeee-lightful!
I was inspired to make a batch of lemony goodness for my own home... and let me tell you, it was every bit as delicious! It may even give my sweet tea a run for it's money! :)It is my pleasure to share this simple pleasure with you:
Old Fashioned Lemonade
1 3/4 cups of sugar
8 cups of water
1 1/2 cups of lemon juice (approximately 8 lemons)
Directions: Make a simple syrup: in a small saucepan combine 1 cup of water and 1 3/4 cups of sugar.

Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Let cool to room temperature. Once cooled put in refrigerator to chill.

Cut and juice approximately 8 lemons to make 1 1/2 cups of lemons juice.

It is just fine to have pulp, but make sure to remove the seeds!
Combine lemon juice and simple syrup. Add remaining 7 cups of water. Stir and chill! You have lemonade!! Enjoy!
*Tip: Soak lemons in hot water for 10 minutes before juicing. Before cutting, roll under palm and counter top to release extra juice... then cut and squeeze away!
