Show Us Your Reception!

It is Show Us Your Reception time at Kelly's Korner Blog!

We had our reception at Moon River Ranch... in a barn. :)

Warning!! Lots of pictures!! haha Its hard to chose just a few...

The outside:

We had a "fall" display... with corn stalks, pumpkins of all sorts, squash, hay bales and big lanterns. :)

The inside:

We decorated the barn with paper lanterns...

Our head table was rather large... and U shaped. We had our immediate families including grandparents sitting at our head table. We felt like they should be honored, too. :)

We had a mix of western and aviation for the reception... It was only appropriate since Jon and I are both pilots. Our guest seat assignment card were "boarding passes"

...the table numbers were on chalkboards. The seat numbers at the table were matched with paper airplanes. The tables were old wagon wheels... our centerpieces were various wildflower bunches and American flags in mason jars. I didn't want sunflowers... but the florist decided to put them in anyway. Oh well. Apparently a "western themed" wedding isn't complete without sunflowers. ha!

We also had cowbells tied with ribbons for the guests to make some good ol' country noise for the wedding party entrance.

In lieu of traditional wedding cake toppers...

We had the airplanes we fly "representing" us. :) My Cessna and Jon's jet. ;)

And, it wasn't even an option... we just HAD to have a donut tower.

With a donut bride and groom.

Most of our wedding and reception was DIY... not because it was necessarily cheaper...but because I like to put unique touches things and I like to craft... and apparently I enjoy biting off more than I can chew in projects...especially when there is a deadline. haha

A little before the reception:

A real man helps you put your dancing boots on.

Our grand entrance:

First Dance...
"When You Say You Love Me" by Josh Groban.

Father/Daughter Dance:

Mother/Son:

Boquet/Garter toss:

Cutting the cake:

Dancin' time!

We were ready with our dancing boots on...

Two steppin' under the neon lights ;)

These pics just crack me up... still!

Walking like an Egyptian...conga line!

Things got a little out of hand when Bon Jovi's "Livin on a Prayer" came on...

Yeah. It was time to call it a night. ;)

I will post the honeymoon pictures in a separate post... this one is entirely too long as is. ;)
Don't forget to check out other receptions on Kelly's Korner Blog!

I was looking at a barn reception and it didn't work out - I was happy with how my reception turned out in the end, but looking through your pictures I remember why I wanted it to work so badly!! It looks just beautiful!!

I am so glad I ran across your blog. I am getting married at Moon River Ranch next October, and I am constantly looking for inspiration pictures. I would love to chat with you and hear more about your wedding and vendors. I live about 3 hours from Waco, so it's hard for me to do a lot of researching in person. If you get a chance, my e-mail is lauren_nicole07@hotmail.com

Thank you,
Lauren
