Tablescape Thursday: Polka Dot Garden

After an eventful day of traveling yesterday (read: LONG delays)... I finally made it to California. I was going to put together an outdoor garden tablescape with some of my mom's dishes... however, it is HOT here! And windy! So I decided to keep the tablescape party inside instead. So... I put together a fun, wonky...bring-the-garden-inside...casual table setting. :)

The theme is red, yellow and blue... and lots of polka dots! :)

The centerpiece is a collection of different potted plants in yellow and red pots.

Since the colors were so fun... I decided to mix up the dishes, napkins and glasses. Who says they all need to be the same? I'm not playing by the rules today. ;)

The plates were a very casual melamine with a floral print... and the larger plates were different red and yellows... And the napkins are all unique to each setting...

Each setting is topped with a white glass bowl full of fresh blueberries...

A red and white polka dotted candle and a little garden birdie hanging out amongst the greenery.

A closer look at the indoor garden. ;)

There are two topiary trees... one on each end of the table...tied with a red polka dot sheer bow.

And two heart stakes...

And the other side of the table...

A bird bath full of strawberries...

A polka dot pitcher...

...and a pail full of cherries.

And a cute little yellow tin watering can with a white flower. :)

A bird's eye view...

On the other side... A red bowl of lemons for a splash of yellow.

...and a red and white bowl full of cherries.

And there is my indoor wonky garden tablescape. For more tablescapes, please visit Susan's Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch. :)

This is so cute, Melissa!! If these are your mom's things, then she has the same sense of whimsy you have. I love it!! And it would make a great Valentine's Day tablescape, swapping out the fruit for chocolates! Ooh la la!!

What a fun & colorful tablescape. I love it!!! And it has been hot & windy here in SoCal. Is it hotter here or Texas? I think the Texas humidy would make it feel hotter even if the temps are higher here. What do you think?

I am starting a NEW Mr. Linky party. It will begin on Aug 10th so everyone will have a week and a half to think about their first post. I have a poll up for votes on which button should be the new button. The "party" is called The Knock Off Knock Out-where THRIFTY meets creative sensation. Go over and learn more about the new weekly event and I would appreciate if you would cast your vote and HELP pick the new button design and its the last week for the July GIVE-A-Way, if you would like to be a part of that event..
